Always start with why

In a world that’s saturated with social media and blogs, “why blog, why now?” are fairly valid questions. You see for me, blogging only ever existed in two realms;  the over-sharer and the uber-polished. I cringed at the sight of baby/food spam (just to be clear, I love babies, and food, I just don’t want to see seventy-three identical images of either), and I’ve never thought of myself as being overly slick or polished.  So, although the idea of starting a blog had been rattling around in my head for years, it was something I never pursued.

Fast-forward a few years, and the idea is still nagging at me, so… here I am! The social media world has evolved so very much, that there really is a place for everyone, and there exists “middle-ground”, so to speak, where I can comfortably perch myself. TLIXIR is not the place you’ll find the every-mundane detail in life of Tara; nor is it the place you will find a cross-legged, bikini-clad goddess practising yoga in Thailand. And truth be told, I can’t even cross my legs!

This blog is a light-hearted glimpse about the world as I see it, focusing on style, beauty, and sprinkled with some general life musings. I do not profess to be an expert on anything but myself, so pretty please be mindful of this when you’re reading, and commenting.  I’ve never taken myself too seriously, and certainly don’t intend on starting now.

Hope so much that you can join me on this ride. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Tara, a huge congratulations on your first blog! I can’t wait to read more. Utterly refreshing!! There is nothing you can’t turn your hand to lady (well maybe the leg crossing but no biggie and certainly no judgement here)!! Look forward to tuning in to your musings. Lotsof love Xxxx
